{{first_name|Friend}},

I need to begin with an urgent update.

SB 30 has passed both chambers of the New Mexico Legislature and is now headed to the Governor’s desk. This bill eliminates abortion reporting requirements, removing transparency and public accountability about how many abortions are happening in our state.

SB 189 remains in committee. This bill would require many insurance plans to cover abortion and gender related services, embedding these practices into mainstream healthcare and directly affecting families across New Mexico. Much of the legislative information and analysis we have shared on SB 30 and SB 189 has come from the dedicated work of The New Mexico Alliance for Life. We are grateful for their vigilance and commitment to keeping New Mexicans informed. Please visit The New Mexico Alliance for Life to learn more and follow legislative updates.

Here is what many people do not realize.

According to a recent study by the Guttmacher Institute, nearly 70 percent of abortions performed in New Mexico are for women traveling from other states, primarily Texas. In recent years, that has meant more than 14,000 Texas women coming here in a single year.

Many New Mexican families cherish life. Yet radical abortion expansion policies continue to be pushed in our name.

This moment is not only legislative. It is spiritual.

We are witnessing a battle over truth, conscience, and the dignity of life.

We need to respond the way this movement has always responded.

With prayer.
With fasting.
With peaceful presence.

This is why we are beginning our 21st Spring 40 Days for Life campaign. We have seen firsthand what God has done through 40 Days for Life worldwide:

  • 26,144 babies saved

  • 275 abortion workers leave the industry

  • 184 abortion centers closed ( one in Las Cruces and one in El Paso)

Those are miracles born from surrendered hearts.

And today, as we begin Day 1, we ask God to purify our hearts. Ask Him to awaken the conscience of our leaders. Ask Him to defend the innocent.
