More Than 500 People Prayed Across New Mexico

I am still taking in what happened across New Mexico on Saturday.

As reports have continued coming in from our different prayer locations, I realized something: far more people were praying together than we initially knew.

Here is what we have heard so far:

That is already more than 700 people gathered in prayer at just five of our locations, and we are still waiting to hear final numbers from the others.

But what moved me even more than the numbers was hearing from the different sites during the rally. For a few moments, New Mexico did not feel divided by miles or cities. We could hear one another. We could see that we were not standing alone. From Las Cruces to Santa Fe, Albuquerque, Rio Rancho, Gallup, and beyond, people of faith were praying together at the same time. This is just the beginning!

To everyone who joined us in person, prayed with us remotely, brought your family, organized a gathering, volunteered, or simply stopped what you were doing to pray with us, thank you.

AND THEN DR. BRUCHALSKI SPOKE

I knew Dr. John Bruchalski's story was powerful, but there was something very different about hearing him standing there in front of the abortion center being built.

He is so clearly driven by the Holy Spirit, but what struck me just as much was his humility.

He reminded us that if God could transform a heart like his, we should never lose hope for anyone.

And we saw the impact of that message almost immediately. After the rally, several men approached Dr. Bruchalski privately and shared their own experiences with abortion. I watched as something about his honesty and humility gave other men permission to speak about wounds they may have carried quietly for years.

Then came a moment I do not think I will ever forget.

Dr. Bruchalski turned toward the abortion center under construction and began to pray:

“Father, forgive them, for they know not what they do.”

For a moment, it felt as though he brought us straight to the foot of the Cross.

He prayed for the abortionists. He prayed for legislators and government officials. He prayed for those who support abortion. He prayed not with anger, but with the heart of someone who knows personally what the mercy of God can do.

His eyes filled with tears as he thanked everyone there, including those joining us remotely, for praying for him. And then he asked us for something very simple:

Please do not stop praying.

Pray for conversion. Pray for the mothers. Pray for those working in abortion. Pray for the families carrying wounds. Pray for everyone affected by it.

That may have been the most important message of the entire morning.

SATURDAY WAS NOT THE END

As beautiful as Saturday was, we cannot allow it to become one wonderful morning that we remember and then move on from.

This is where 40 Days for Life becomes so important.

Our 40 Days for Life campaigns are built around prayer and fasting, and our own ministry has seen how much a faithful presence on the sidewalk can matter.

We have seen conversations happen, mothers pause, hearts soften, and people remember that someone was there when they were facing one of the most difficult moments of their lives. Our team has even heard from women later who remembered encountering Her Care Connection and the prayerful presence outside.

Sometimes a woman may be praying for a sign.

Our presence may be that sign.

You do not have to know exactly what to say. You do not have to be a sidewalk advocate. You can simply give an hour and pray.

Saturday reminded me again that so many people across New Mexico love God, love their families, and are willing to show up for one another.

More than 500 people prayed together.

Now we keep praying.

We keep showing up.

And most importantly, we do not lose hope in what God can do with a human heart.

Prayer. Presence. Purpose.
