"I Looked for Someone to Stand in the Gap..."

Thank you for staying with us this week — for reading each update and holding this rally in prayer.

As tomorrow gets closer, I'd like to invite you to prepare in one more way: consider fasting today, even in a small way. Skip a meal, or set something aside, and offer it up for the hearts that will be touched tomorrow. Sometimes the quiet act of giving something up says more to God than words ever could.

8:30 a.m. We gather.

If you've never been to a prayer rally before, here's what to expect. It's simple. It's peaceful. It's just believers showing up, some who've done this for years, some coming for the first time, standing together in prayer for the women who feel afraid, for the fathers searching for courage, for the families longing for healing, and for the unborn whose voices cannot yet be heard.

Bring a hat. Bring water. The New Mexico sun doesn't wait for anyone, and neither does God's work.

Bring your kids if you can. Let them see what it looks like when grown-ups put their faith into action instead of just talking about it.

If you can only stay ten minutes before work, come for ten minutes. If you can stay the whole two hours, even better. What matters is that you come.

Tomorrow, Southern New Mexico and West Texas will answer that call together — standing shoulder to shoulder in one place, for one reason.

There is something powerful about a community choosing to begin their Saturday morning this way, not sleeping in, but on their feet, hearts turned toward heaven, asking God to move.
