Today I want to share a short video from Aida Salazar, our Her Care Connection Coordinator, along with another brief conversation she had yesterday with Dr. Theard.
As many of you know, God has blessed us with a remarkable opportunity. Our new Her Care Connection office shares a wall with Dr. Theard's abortion facility.
That means we are no longer limited to a few hurried moments on the sidewalk before a woman drives away. We now have the opportunity to welcome women into a peaceful place, sit with them, listen to their stories, pray with them, and walk alongside them without the pressure of traffic or passing cars.
It also gives us opportunities to encounter Dr. Theard and his staff.
Yesterday, Dr. Theard asked Aida whether we had purchased the office. When she explained that we were renting it, he responded, "What a waste of money."
His words stayed with me.
Not because they offended me, but because they reminded me how differently we can measure value.
Jesus tells us, "For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also." (Matthew 6:21)
If this office helps save even one child...
If one frightened mother finds hope instead of despair...
If one family is made whole...
If one heart is converted...
Then every dollar spent will have been worth it.
Because every human life is created in the image and likeness of God. There is no greater investment than protecting the life of a child.
As I watched the interaction, my heart broke for Dr. Theard, too.
God entrusted him with extraordinary gifts as a physician and a high-risk obstetrician, gifts that have the potential to bring children safely into this world and care for mothers during some of the most vulnerable moments of their lives.
Later that evening, I found myself overwhelmed.
I truly believe God did not place us next door only for the women who walk through those doors. I believe He placed us there for Dr. Theard, too.
What overwhelmed me was realizing just how far God is willing to go for one soul.
He orchestrated a chapel on the other side of a shared wall. He surrounded Dr. Theard with people who pray for him every day. He placed Aida, our interns, and our volunteers close enough to have conversations that simply were not possible before. Every day, he will hear prayers being offered, conversations filled with hope, and people who genuinely care about him, even if he does not yet understand why.
As I watched our team interact with him, I noticed something beautiful. They have always prayed for Dr. Theard and longed for his conversion, but now that we are neighbors, I can already see their compassion for him growing even deeper. They don't see only the abortionist next door. They see a man created in the image and likeness of God, a man Christ died for, and a man whose soul the Father continues to pursue with relentless love.
That thought brought me to tears.
The same Father who is fighting for every baby inside that facility is also pursuing Dr. Theard with that very same relentless love.
For months, I have carried this prayer card with Psalm 51 written specifically for Dr. Theard. I have prayed that prayer often, asking God to give him a new heart and to reveal His mercy in a personal way. You can click the link to find the prayer card on our website.
Yesterday, it suddenly occurred to me that perhaps God has been answering that prayer all along by placing us right next door.
What an incredible privilege that God would invite us to become part of His pursuit through our prayers, our witness, our kindness, and our love.
Please continue praying for Dr. Theard and everyone who works alongside him. I believe God brought us next door for a reason, and I trust that every prayer, every act of kindness, and every conversation rooted in Christ will bear fruit in His perfect time.

Although we do not usually gather there on Saturdays because the construction crews are not working, I believe the Lord is inviting us to spend this time in prayer. If you are available, I would be honored if you joined me.
The effort to stop the abortion center continues. We are still making calls, writing letters, and building relationships throughout New Mexico and beyond. I am also prayerfully preparing our next opportunity to gather as a community in prayer, and I look forward to sharing more details with you very soon.
Until then, let us continue doing what has brought us this far: praying faithfully, speaking the truth with charity, and trusting that God is working, even when we cannot yet see the full picture.
