I pray that you have had a blessed New Year! It is my honor to introduce myself as the new CEO of Southwest Coalition, Inc. My official start date was December 12, the feast of Our Lady of Guadalupe, whom I profoundly respect, love, and admire. That holy season reminded us that the greatest gift—Jesus Christ—came to us through Mary's courageous ‘yes’ to an unexpected pregnancy. Her fiat is the model for our mission and my heart as I begin this role. I praise God for this calling and for you—our faithful supporters.

I truly believe God's timing is perfect. The scope of all the entities the Southwest Coalition manages is not a simple task to undertake. After nearly eight years of serving alongside Mark and our team, I confidently step forward, trusting in God's grace and the wisdom I've gained over the years to continue building a culture of Life. Having served in various capacities, from sidewalk outreach and program operations to development and administration, I've gained a clear, hard-won understanding of what it takes to keep us moving forward with prayer, perseverance, and fortitude.

The life-affirming whole-journey uniqueness of our Guiding Stars clinics, the support and success of our Lily Pad Residents, the dedication of our Her Care Connection Interns in front of the abortion clinics, the resilience of our 40 Days for Life prayer volunteers (starting again soon Feb 18–Mar 29), and our relentless Southwest Coalition campaigns like "Stop the Center" are only possible because of your "Fiat", your Yes.

Thank you for your heartfelt prayers, your generous financial support, and your trust. I am deeply honored to serve the communities of El Paso and Las Cruces.

Let us continue this work together, confident that Christ our King leads us.

Please keep us in your prayers, as we also pray for you. May we always remain humble, knowing that He has looked kindly upon us and entrusted us with the work of rebuilding a culture of life and being a voice for the voiceless.

With gratitude and faith,

Jessica Sifuentes
President & CEO

Hero Story: Courage, Faith, and New Beginnings

I’d like to share my journey with you—one that transformed despair into hope, thanks to The Lily Pad Maternity Home. When I first arrived at The Lily Pad, my intention was to place my baby for adoption. Life had been incredibly challenging. As a mother of two young children, ages two and three, I was struggling financially and felt utterly alone.

In February, I faced the heartbreak of a miscarriage. With no resources or money for medical care, I buried my lost child in my backyard, beside a tree planted by my parents. Not long after, my belly began to grow, and fear crept in. I thought something was seriously wrong—perhaps a tumor or cancer. It never crossed my mind that I could be pregnant again. The truth was that the pregnancy was a twin from my previous loss.

Overwhelmed, I searched for adoption resources and soon found myself speaking with Ms. Martha from The Lily Pad. She told me I could stay and that I had the strength to be a mother. I didn’t believe in myself—but Ms. Martha, Ms. Margarita Gomez, Joy, and the entire team believed in me. I was due in late December and hid my pregnancy from my parents, telling them I was leaving for work in Houston. With a heavy heart, I left my children behind, unsure if I could keep this baby. The unexpected happened—I gave birth at just thirty-two weeks to a beautiful baby boy, Jason. After a C-section and hospital stay, I avoided seeing him, afraid that holding him would make goodbye impossible.

“On my last night in the hospital, I prayed for courage and God answered.”

That night, I walked into Jason’s nursery and held him for the first time. He was perfect. Tears streamed down my face as I realized I didn’t want to let him go. In that moment, I made the most important decision of my life—to parent my child. Today, Jason is four weeks old, and I am thriving. I have reunited with my parents and my children. With the guidance of Ms. Margarita Gomez, I am working hard to build a future for my family and learning that I truly can do this.

Thank you to The Lily Pad Maternity Home for believing in me and helping me realize my strength. Because of their support, I am not just surviving—I am thriving.

Highlight: The Lily Pad Maternity Home

As we concluded 2025 as another successful year at The Lily Pad, it was a time to reflect on our incredible journey and the blessings we have received since our founding in 2024. As the first faith-based maternity home in the Borderland, we remain dedicated to honoring mothers and their children, especially those without support who may feel lost and pressured into considering abortion.

In just two years, we have achieved remarkable milestones that affirm our commitment to serving our community. We were grateful that in 2024, out of 270 providers in Texas, we received the Rookie of the Year Award at the Texas Pregnancy Care Network's (TPCN) annual conference. This recognition underscores the impact we've made in such a short time, highlighting our dedication to mothers and babies in need.

Then again last year, we were further honored with the Commitment to Compassion Award, a testament to our mission of providing compassionate care and unwavering support to those we serve.

These accolades are a direct result of the hard work, passion, and commitment of our remarkable staff, and with the countless volunteers and donors who contribute their time, incredible gifts, and talents. Together, we are building a community of care that uplifts mothers on one of life's most beautiful journeys. Looking forward, we remain focused on enhancing the lives of mothers and their children. We invite everyone to get involved by volunteering, donating, or simply spreading the word about our services. Your support is vital and makes a significant difference!

Thank you for being an essential part of The Lily Pad family. Together, we are growing and making a meaningful impact in the lives of the mothers and babies we serve.
