First, the good news…
Last year, a small group of faithful supporters stepped forward with a matching challenge that carried us through El Paso Giving Day. This year, they didn't just step forward again — several of them increased their gift. That's how we ended up with an amazing $150,000 matching challenge, meaning every dollar you give through midnight on October 15 is doubled.
And there's more good news I didn't fully explain on the webcast. This year, El Paso Giving Day is offering a limited number of $25,000 bonus awards for the first organizations to meet their match — first come, first served. If this community moves fast, that's an extra $25,000 for The Lily Pad — on top of the $300,000. Free money to help more moms, if we're quick.
Here's what that looks like in practice: one of our first donors gave $500 the minute the form opened at midnight, and watched it become $1,000 on the spot.
Before the bad news,
CONGRATULATIONS to Viola Anderson! The winner of our Webcast Watcher Contest. We will be reaching out to schedule your Dinner Party!

And now, the bad news…
When I checked last night, only 13 people have donated $2,850 — thank you! — but we still have a long way to go to $150,000 and the $25,000 bonus is still very much up for grabs by someone else.
I'll be honest with you: I know we didn't have enough time on Wednesday night to explain everything, and the technical trouble didn't help. But the need hasn't changed. We have a 14-year-old mom at the Lily Pad, four bedrooms, a waiting list, and a judge and a CPS worker both asking if we have room for more girls. We don't. Yet.
That's what this match is for.
So here's what I'm asking today. Whether it's $10, $50, or $5,000, every dollar is doubled, and every donor moves us up in the rankings toward that $25,000 bonus. There is no gift too small to count twice.
Let's make sure not one dollar of this match is left on the table — and let's make sure life stays the #1 cause in the borderland.
Gratefully in Christ,

Devotional for Day 17
Intention: For God's blessings upon those in need, and for the grace to trust in His providence.
Scripture: “And my God will fully supply whatever you need.” — Philippians 4:19
Reflection: Sometimes the needs around us seem greater than anything we can provide. But God never asks us to carry every burden alone. Today, let us pray for those facing difficult circumstances, especially young mothers searching for safety and hope. May God open doors, place compassionate people in their paths, and give them the grace to trust Him even when the future is uncertain.
Prayer: Heavenly Father, pour Your blessings upon those who are struggling. Provide for their needs, surround them with loving and generous people, and grant them peace, strength, and hope. Help us recognize Your hand in every blessing, great and small. Amen.
TODAY'S CHALLENGE
Pray for three people today: someone struggling, someone who has blessed your life, and someone you have never met who needs God's grace.
