Day 3: How Far Would You Travel to Save a Life?

This past weekend, our community showed up.

In Las Cruces, Prayer Warriors gathered as Pastor Morris led us in prayer, and in Santa Teresa, we came together for Mass celebrated by Father Theo to begin our 40 Days for Life campaign.

Different communities. Different places. One mission.

And as we watched people come together, we were reminded of a question our team was asked three years ago—one that still challenges us today.

In 2023, members of our team traveled to Lubbock, Texas, to speak about how abortion in New Mexico was affecting women traveling from Texas.

While there, a city representative asked our staff:

“Why did you come if this isn't your city?”

Our answer was simple:

That question feels especially important as we begin these 40 days.

Our team was willing to travel hours.

This past weekend, many of you got in your cars and traveled across town to stand with us.

Now we're asking:

How far are you willing to go for the next 40 days?

Maybe it's an hour away.

Maybe it's 12 minutes down the road.

And maybe what we're really asking isn't about distance at all.

One hour to stand peacefully. One hour to pray.

One hour to believe that God can move in ways we cannot yet see.

Because faith isn't only believing when the outcome looks possible.

Faith is acting on what we believe before we see the outcome.

We may look at what is happening in our communities and wonder how our presence or our prayers could possibly make a difference.

But we aren't being asked to accomplish this alone.

God is King.

We show up.
We pray.
We remain faithful.
And we trust God with the outcome.

For these 40 days, we're asking you to put that faith into action.

Choose one hour. Show up. Pray. And believe.
