A Powerful Witness in the City of the Crosses.

Today, our community came together in a powerful way to stand for life in Las Cruces, the City of the Crosses. Seeing families, pastors, leaders, and neighbors gather in faith and courage was deeply moving.

We began the day with a beautiful Mass celebrated by the Bishop and Fr. Alejandro, placing this entire effort in God’s hands before the rally even began. It was the perfect way to start a day centered on prayer, faith, and hope.

Thank you to every person who showed up. Many of you traveled from Santa Fe, Hobbs, Albuquerque, El Paso, and surrounding communities to be there. Your presence sent a clear message that the people of this region care deeply about protecting life.

I also want to express my gratitude to Mayor Eric Enriquez, who spoke about the profound trauma abortion leaves behind. Drawing from his experience as a former firefighter, he reminded us that tragedies involving unborn children leave real wounds on families, first responders, and communities. His message reminded us that abortion leaves real wounds on families and communities.

When city and state leaders stand publicly and declare their support for the dignity of life, it matters. Their courage emboldens citizens to speak up as well. Defending life is not something to whisper about. It is something we can proclaim openly and without fear.

Although he was unable to attend in person, State Senator David Gallegos sent a message encouraging our community to keep pressing forward and to work together to delay construction of the facility so lawmakers can pursue redirecting those funds toward true, whole women’s healthcare for New Mexico families. You can listen to his message below.

We are also grateful to Pastor Morris and Pastor Diaz for closing the rally in prayer and reminding us that everything we do must remain grounded in faith.

A special thank you to the security team who helped ensure everyone remained safe throughout the rally and march.

Today was a powerful moment for our community, but it is not the end of the work.

In the coming days I will meet again with Senator Gallegos and leaders in the construction industry, and next week I will travel to Albuquerque to meet with pro-life organizations so we can unify and strengthen our efforts across New Mexico.

As many of us prayed during the march, we remembered the words of Psalm 37. Even when evil appears to advance, the Lord calls us not to lose heart.

We are still writing the chapters of this story together.

And one thing we know with certainty is how it ends.

Christ has conquered death.

Victory belongs to Him.

Families also left the rally with letter packets to contact elected officials and continue making their voices heard. Thank you as well to the generous donors who sponsored hot dogs, chips, and water, helping make the day feel like what it was — a community coming together.

Construction on that facility has not stopped, and those behind it are counting on us to grow tired and move on.

They are wrong.

After what I saw today — the faith, the families, the courage of leaders who stood publicly for life, and the prayers of a packed church at 10:00 a.m. on a Saturday — I have never been more certain that this community will see this work through.

If you were there today, thank you. Your presence told every mother in this city that she is not alone and she is not forgotten.

If you could not be there, we missed you. If you would like to pick up a letter packet, please call 915-455-1344 to arrange a pickup time.

For life, for mothers, for Las Cruces,
