Firmly Rooted in Christ, We Will Not Only Stand, but Grow.
Sunday's powerful winds uprooted enormous trees, some that had stood for decades. My son took this picture just a few blocks from our home.

Those beautiful trees looked so strong, but when the storm came, their roots couldn't hold them.
And it made me wonder how often we, too, appear strong on the outside, until the storms of life test the strength of our roots.
We are certainly facing storms of our own. As election season approaches, we hear candidates openly supporting abortion and sex-change procedures for children. We're seeing programs training future physicians to perform abortions, and our sidewalk teams continue witnessing heartbreaking realities. This past Saturday alone, our team reported 18 abortions at the Santa Teresa facility.
It's frightening to think about the world our children and grandchildren will inherit.
But then I remembered the words of Jesus:
“The rain fell, the floods came, and the winds blew and buffeted the house. But it did not collapse; it had been set solidly on rock.” Matthew 7:25
And I wonder how deeply rooted we are in Christ.
When the political winds become stronger, when the news becomes more disturbing, when our efforts seem insufficient, will we remain standing?
Jesus never promised us a life without storms. He taught us how to withstand them.
Our strength comes from prayer, Scripture, the Rosary, and time before the Blessed Sacrament. These are the roots that sustain us when everything around us seems uncertain.
And this is exactly why Southwest Coalition exists.
Because even in the midst of these storms, we cannot stop defending life, helping mothers, and protecting their children. We must not only stand firm, but continue to grow, reaching more women, welcoming more babies, and strengthening more families.
And thanks to your prayers and generosity, that is exactly what God is allowing us to do!
While the storms around us may be growing stronger, so are the ministries God has entrusted to us, and none of this would be possible without your prayers and generosity.
We cannot control the storms, but firmly rooted in Christ, we will continue standing strong, defending life, helping mothers, and bringing hope to those who need it most.
A QUICK UPDATE AND A BIG THANK YOU!
Once again, thank you from the bottom of my heart!
We learned that El Paso Giving Day will officially close Sunday, October 18! Donations are still being processed, so we're waiting for the final results. But whether we finish first or second among more than 300 nonprofits, what you've accomplished is extraordinary!
If you haven't had a chance to give, there's still time through Sunday!
And get those boots ready! Nearly 300 gala seats have already been claimed! I can't wait to celebrate with you, hear Riley Gaines, and enjoy our first-ever Western dance!

Devotional for Day 25
Intention: For our faith to remain strong in the face of adversity, and for the courage to continue defending life and supporting mothers and their children.
Scripture: “The rain fell, the floods came, and the winds blew and buffeted the house. But it did not collapse; it had been set solidly on rock.” — Matthew 7:25
Reflection: Christ reminds us that our strength comes not from the absence of storms, but from the foundation upon which we stand. Through prayer and trust in God, we deepen our spiritual roots, finding the courage not only to stand firm, but to continue growing in faith, love, and service to others.
Prayer: Heavenly Father, deepen the roots of our faith and strengthen our trust in You. When the storms of life surround us, protect our hearts from fear and discouragement. May everything we do be firmly rooted in Your love. Through Christ our Lord. Amen.
Challenge: Spend 15 minutes in prayer today, asking God to reveal where your spiritual roots need strengthening. Pray especially for those who are discouraged in the fight for life, that they may find renewed courage and peace in Christ.
