Let’s fill the streets.

The other day, I stood watching a Front Loader digging into the ground at the building site for the abortion center. As I prayed there, I felt the heaviness of it all. For a moment, I felt discouraged and needed Jesus. I recorded a short video there to remind myself of the urgency to do everything we can to stop it.

The next morning I went to the 7:00 a.m. Mass, and it was beautiful to see the church full of believers starting their day with the Lord. As Mass began, I simply asked God to calm my spirit and help me rest in His Word.

Then the first reading began.

Jeremiah 17:5 to 10

“Cursed is the man who trusts in human beings… whose heart turns away from the Lord.”

How easy it is to look at the size of the problem and feel overwhelmed.

But the passage continues:

“Blessed is the one who trusts in the Lord, whose hope is the Lord.”

Jeremiah says that “person” is like a tree planted beside water. Even when heat comes, it remains green. Even in drought, it continues to bear fruit.

Standing at that construction site felt heavy. But this morning the Lord reminded me of something important.

Our hope is not in human strength.

Our hope is in Him.

Yesterday I shared that we met with Senator David Gallegos and Mayor Eric Enriquez, and we are grateful that Mayor Enriquez will be speaking at the rally.

Now we are in the final week to invite others.

Please help spread the word:

• Ask your pastor if the rally can be announced at church this Saturday or Sunday

• Pick up rally invitation packets and share them in your community

• Use your social media to invite friends and family

We have also prepared letter packets to make it easy for supporters to help contact the companies supplying materials to the construction site.

Each packet already includes the letter and vendor contact information, so all you need to do is mail them.

Letter packets will be ready for pickup today, Friday, March 6th, at the Las Cruces Guiding Star office, 2908 Hillrise Dr., from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.

The packets will also be available at the March for Life Rally for anyone who cannot pick them up today.

Every invitation matters.

Devotional for Day 17

Intention: For our community to remain rooted in trust and hope in the Lord as we continue standing for life.

Scripture:
“Blessed is the one who trusts in the Lord, whose hope is the Lord.”
Jeremiah 17:7

Reflection:
When challenges feel overwhelming, Jeremiah reminds us where our strength comes from. Those who trust in the Lord are like trees planted beside water, steady and alive even in difficult seasons. When our hope is rooted in God, He gives us the strength to remain faithful.

Prayer:
Lord, help us place our full trust in You. Strengthen our hearts when we feel discouraged and keep our hope firmly rooted in Your promises. Guide our community with wisdom, courage, and unity as we stand for life. Amen.

Challenge:
Invite at least three people to attend the March 14 rally and encourage them to invite others as well. Pray Psalm 51 for Dr. Theard.
