A faithful city does not stay silent.
The 40 Days for Life movement has always been ecumenical. Across the country and around the world, Christians from many denominations unite in prayer and peaceful witness for life.
That same unity was present at our emergency meeting last week. Baptists, Catholics, Evangelicals, non-denominational Christians, Mormons, Seventh-day Adventists, and others gathered with one shared conviction.
The people of Las Cruces cannot remain silent while an abortion mega center rises in our city.
So today I am asking something very specific of you.
Please ask your priest or pastor to announce the Southwest March for Life in your church.
And we do not need to wait until Sunday.
Many of us gather throughout the week for Wednesday services, Bible studies, choir rehearsals, prayer groups, and rosary groups. These gatherings are opportunities to invite others to stand for life.
Many of you have asked what you can do to help. Here are four simple steps.
Print the Flyers
Print the Pulpit Announcements
Look up 5 churches in your neighborhood.
Call, invite them, and personally drop off the printed materials
Imagine what it will say to our city when believers from many denominations fill the streets of Las Cruces together in peaceful witness.
This is our moment.
If we do not speak up, evil advances quietly. But when the people of God rise together, darkness cannot prevail.
Let us show our city that Las Cruces stands for life.
In Christ,
That is why we are coming together in a united, public witness:

Devotional for Day 15
Intention:
For the conversion of hearts in our city, especially those directly involved in the construction and operation of the abortion facility.
Scripture:
“Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good.” Romans 12:21
Reflection:
We are not called to match darkness with outrage. We are called to overcome it with goodness. Every prayer offered, every peaceful witness, every act of love plants seeds that we may never see fully bloom. God is never indifferent to faithfulness. Even when circumstances seem to advance in the wrong direction, the Lord is working in ways beyond what is visible. Our task is not to control outcomes. Our task is to remain steadfast, trusting that grace can penetrate even the hardest hearts.
Prayer:
Father, You are Lord over every city and every heart. Pour out Your mercy on Las Cruces. Soften hearts that have grown resistant to truth. Protect every mother who feels afraid and every child whose life is at risk. Strengthen Your people to stand firm in love, unwavering in hope, and faithful in prayer. May Your goodness overcome every evil. Amen.
Challenge:
Invite 10 people to the rally. Pray Psalm 51 for Dr. Theard.
40 Days of Gift Giving
Each day, one Registered Prayer Volunteer from every vigil site will be selected to receive a small Southwest Coalition merchandise item that we already have on hand. It is a simple and joyful way for us to thank you for showing up and standing faithfully in prayer.
