Your Presence Matters More Than You Think
Yesterday, I shared why we are preparing carefully before moving forward. Updates are coming. In the meantime, I want to reflect on something that speaks directly to the moment we are living in.
I also want you to mark your calendar. The March for Life in Las Cruces will be held on Saturday, March 14th. I will share full details in tomorrow’s email, but I want you to begin preparing now.
There is a reason this matters.
During the March for Life in Washington last year, I experienced a moment outside Planned Parenthood that I still carry with me. It was a sobering reminder of how profoundly disoriented our world has become.
Our team was there, peacefully and prayerfully present. Across the street, a protester was yelling obscenities. In the middle of that noise, a woman walked by and said with conviction, “What you are doing out here is evil. You should mind your own business and let women do whatever they want with their bodies.”
She believed it.
When good is called evil, and evil is celebrated as good, it is not merely a difference of opinion. It is spiritual blindness.
Recently, an ordained Presbyterian minister publicly declared abortion a “moral good, an act of grace, and a blessing,” even describing her own abortions as experiences in which she felt God’s presence and no wrongdoing. When the destruction of innocent life is described as holy, we are witnessing the inversion Isaiah warned about long ago. “Woe unto them that call evil good, and good evil; that put darkness for light, and light for darkness; that put bitter for sweet, and sweet for bitter!” (Isaiah 5:20)

This is why standing firm matters.
We cannot compromise truth in order to blend in. We cannot soften reality because we fear being labeled extreme. We cannot shrink back because the cultural tide feels strong.
New Mexico may be labeled extremely liberal. It may be described as highly pro abortion. But labels do not determine truth. Political narratives do not redefine moral reality. And we will not be counted among those who are blinded into calling evil good.
If we recognize the difference between good and evil, then our response must be visible. Showing up is not extremism. It is clarity. Gathering for the March for Life is the opposite of calling evil good. It is a peaceful and public declaration that life is sacred and truth still matters.
Make plans now to attend on March 14th. Invite your family. Invite your friends. Let Las Cruces see that there are men and women who know the difference and are not afraid to stand for it.
We stand because we love.
We stand because truth matters.
We stand because our eyes have been opened.
Thank you for standing with us.
Gratefully in Christ,

Devotional for Day 13
Intention: For courage to stand firm in truth.
Scripture: “Woe to those who call evil good and good evil.” — Isaiah 5:20
Reflection: When good is labeled evil, and evil is praised as good, we are witnessing more than disagreement. We are seeing spiritual confusion. Isaiah warned of this moral inversion long ago. As followers of Christ, we are called to remain anchored in truth even when culture shifts around us. Courage does not require anger. It requires steadiness. We stand firm not to win arguments, but to remain faithful.
Prayer: Lord, keep my heart rooted in truth. Remove fear of rejection or false labels. Give me calm, compassionate courage to stand firm without compromise.
Challenge: Where are you tempted to stay silent to avoid standing out? Ask the Lord for boldness rooted in love. Pray Psalm 51 for Dr. Theard.
40 Days of Gift Giving
Each day, one Registered Prayer Volunteer from every vigil site will be selected to receive a small Southwest Coalition merchandise item that we already have on hand. It is a simple and joyful way for us to thank you for showing up and standing faithfully in prayer.
